Book Your SessionWhat to Expect
Your session begins with a full safety briefing covering safe gun handling, range etiquette, and what to expect during the shoot. All equipment — shotgun, cartridges, hearing protection, and eye protection — is provided. You will not need to bring anything other than yourself and appropriate outdoor clothing.
Because every session is 1-2-1, the instruction is entirely personalised to you. Beginners start with the fundamentals of stance, mount, and swing before moving on to driven, crossing, and incoming targets. More experienced shooters can focus on specific target presentations or technique refinements. There is no fixed syllabus — the session follows your progress.
Sessions take place at Owl Lodge, Lacock — a private outdoor space with a well-established shooting ground. The environment is calm, unhurried, and focused entirely on your development. This is not a commercial shooting ground with strangers alongside you; it is a private, personal session.
Who It Suits
Clay pigeon shooting suits a wide range of adults — from complete beginners who have never handled a firearm, through to experienced shotgun users who want structured coaching to improve specific aspects of their technique. No prior experience is needed. The 1-2-1 format means there is no pressure to perform, no keeping pace with others, and no embarrassment about asking basic questions. If you are looking for a new outdoor pursuit, an unusual activity, or a genuine skills session, this is well suited to you.
